Former Miami Dolphins cornerback Trill Williams has spent the last several years trying to wrap up large men and drive them into the ground.

Now, he's going to do it in a different way, albeit in a different realm of sports.  Sports entertainment that is.

According to PWInsider.com, Williams reportedly was set to try out for a spot with the WWE this weekend in Cleveland, where the company's Summerslam event was taking place.

Williams was claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins in May 2021.  He ultimately ended up making the team's final 53-man roster in August.  However, he never ended up seeing the field, remaining inactive on game days.  An ACL injury in August 2022 cost him the entire season.  He failed to make the final 53-man roster in 2023.

Williams is looking to join a large number of wrestlers who began their careers on the football field.  Bill Goldberg was a former Atlanta Falcon.  Big Van Vader was a Los Angeles Ram.  The Rock played for the Miami Hurricanes before a brief stint in the CFL.  These are just a few of many.

We'll see if Williams has the mic skills and persona to earn a shot at wrestling glory.  Having made an NFL roster, there's little doubt that he has the athletic ability.
