One of the biggest stories this offseason surrounding the Miami Dolphins was expected to be whether or not they'll pursue future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady is scheduled to be a free agent in March and he's not expected to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though retirement is an option for the 45-year-old quarterback.

There have been rumblings that Miami will bring Brady to South Beach to pair with the Dolphins' elite wide receiver combo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

But according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, it doesn't appear that will be the case.

Schefter reported on Sunday morning that sources have told him that Miami isn't planning to pursue Brady this offseason.

From ESPN:

The Miami Dolphins are not expected to pursue Tom Brady should the star quarterback decide he wants to return for the 2023 season, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Brady stated he is undecided on his plans for next season, but the seven-time Super Bowl winner is set to become an unrestricted free agent and likely will attract attention from multiple teams.

Schefter added that Miami is committed to Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback in 2023. He also noted that the Dolphins' were pleased with Tagovailoa's development under first-year head coach Mike McDaniel in 2022.

There's always the possibility that plans could change — especially when it comes to Brady — but for now, it sounds like Miami is rolling with Tua in 2023.

That could be a wise move — it felt like Brady was starting to show his age in 2022 — but only if Tua can stay healthy in 2023.
