Mike McDaniel reveals uncomfortable truth about the Dolphins

It’s safe to say head coach Mike McDaniel is not thrilled after his Miami Dolphins just capped off the franchise’s first winless December in nearly 30 years.
The Dolphins (8-7) shot themselves in the foot on Christmas Day, losing to the Green Bay Packers (7-8) by a score of 23-20. Now on a four-game losing streak, the Dolphins are at a crossroads with just two games in the regular season remaining.
After the loss, McDaniel revealed that its gut-check time for his team.
“At some point, if we want to take the next step, we’re going to have to put up or shut up,” McDaniel said.
With the postseason on the horizon, Miami is playing its worst football at the wrong time. December is supposed to be the month that playoff contenders use to capture momentum before heading into the postseason.
Instead, it’s beginning to feel like confidence is slipping away from a Dolphins team that was 8-3 just one month ago.
Tua Tagovailoa threw three interceptions on the day, all of which came in the fourth quarter. In order for the Dolphins to win in the postseason, much less make it to the playoffs, Tagovailoa cannot continue to give capable opponents extra opportunities to beat Miami.
The Dolphins must get back on track next week, playing host to the sputtering New England Patriots. It’s the next opportunity for the team to build confidence, still with the hopes of making a postseason run.
