The Miami Dolphins have a lot of issues to address on their offensive line this offseason.  They potentially could have another big one coming, both literally and figuratively.

Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead has not made a decision on playing in 2024 or retiring, according to his head coach Mike McDaniel on Tuesday at the NFL Combine.

"I have let time allow for what is an important decision for him.  Let time from the season evolve so that he can give us a window into what he's thinking.  I think it's important. There's a roller coaster of emotions when you're talking about potentially leaving a game that you're elite at. And the pros and cons of that. He's been an unbelievable leader. And he's really battled through a ton of different things for us. And right now he's determining something that him and his body are the only people that know. And we are very open for that. However, we also have to allow for that time and assess all options, so that the Miami Dolphins have plans regardless of any sort of scenario, which is what we get paid to do. But there's not anybody that's earned more liberty to take his time to figure out what's the next step in his life and if it's with this team or not. So we're allowing that with Terron. And excited to hear some conclusions he's drawn in the in the near future." – Mike McDaniel

It's understandable that Armstead is taking his time to determine his plans, especially after how last season went down.  The Dolphins' left tackle went down during joint practice with the Houston Texans in August with a knee injury and missed the start of the regular season.  Back and ankle issues also plagued Armstead throughout the year.

Armstead only started 10 games in 2023.  However, he still acquitted himself well, posting a 79.3 Pro Football Focus grade for the season.  When he's on the field, he's a high-level performer.

Unfortunately, injuries over his career have prevented him from being that on a consistent basis.  From 2016 through 2021, he played in more than 10 regular season games just twice.  He's also missed 11 regular season games for the Dolphins over the last two seasons.

Now, the wait begins to see if Armstead is willing to subject his body to even more punishment, or if he's calling it a career.
