The Miami Dolphins have a number of players who's future's with the team are or were in question. From QB Tua Tagovailoa to TE Mike Gesicki.

But what about the defense? They finished the season 18th overall with a number of deficiencies despite great outputs from players like DT Christian Wilkins and DB Jevon Holland.

The secondary being a big issue with the injury to CB Byron Jones who didn't play a single snap all season. Now he might not even play another snap with the Dolphins again.

It's being circulated right now that unless Jones and the Dolphins can agree to a salary reduction or restructure of some kind, they will look to move on.

Byron Jones, 30, signed a five-year, $82 million contract in 2020 to play with the Dolphins. Following an All-Pro outing with the Dallas Cowboys.

After what is his third season in Miami, he has the fourth-highest cap hit on the team. Totaling a $18.35 million cap hit. Something the Miami Dolphins won't pay for.

They are still an estimated $16+ million over the 2023 cap, but Jones' salary is not guaranteed for the season.

The biggest cap savings were if the Dolphins either traded or released Jones with a post-June 1st designation. Opening up $13.6 million in cap space.

Unless a new deal can be reworked, Jones's days in Miami are numbered.
