The Miami Dolphins got a handful of tough answers among a host of questions entering Sunday's return matchup against the New York Jets, which includes the Dolphins' most important player.
WR Tyreek Hill was included among the Dolphins' list of inactive players for Sunday.
Hill was reportedly given the ability to have input on whether he would be able to play on Sunday. After a warmup on Sunday morning, Hill reportedly gave the thumbs up.
However, after warming up, apparently that thumbs up wasn't enough for Hill, the coaching staff, and/or the trainers to determine that he was able to play effectively or did not face a risk of aggravating the injury.
Hill suffered an ankle injury just six days ago in the first quarter of the Dolphins' 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He admitted after the game that the injury prevented him from cutting and was very painful. There was hope on Friday when Mike McDaniel noted they would see on Sunday morning how Hill felt he was doing, but in the end the Dolphins will be without their top playmaker in a game they really need to have.
The bad news didn't stop there. The Dolphins' secondary is taking a big hit with safeties Jevon Holland and DeShon Elliott and CB Xavien Howard both out. Howard suffered a hip injury early during the Dolphins' loss to the Titans and was limited in practice this week, but is unable to go.
