Kirk Cousins suffered an ugly injury near the end of the game against the Packers.

Cousins suffered a non-contact injury and had to be carted to the locker room. Immediately after the game, Kevin O'Connell said the team is fearing an achilles injury for Cousins.

Now, with the NFL trade deadline just days away, let's take a look at some of the QBs that the Vikings could acquire.

Mac Jones

Could Jones be available? The New England Patriots are buried at the bottom of the AFC East and could pivot to Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham. There has been much frustration between the team and Jones over the last year, with Jones being benched in favor of Zappe multiple times.

If the Patriots decide that Jones isn't the answer, they will likely need to get a QB in the 2024 NFL Draft. Trading away Jones would help the team stockpile picks.

Of the three QBs on this list, Jones would likely be the most expensive. The QB won't be an unrestricted free agent until 2026, so he could be a long-term solution in Minnesota.

Davis Mills

This is not the sexiest option, but Mills has looked competent at times. The QB threw for over 3,000 yards last season on a terrible Texans team. Perhaps with better teammates, like he would have in Minnesota, Mills would be serviceable.

Additionally, Mills would likely not cost much. The Texans have their QB of the future in CJ Stroud and a solid backup in Case Keenum. Mills is probably a better option than Jaren Hall right now.

Ryan Tannehill

In my opinion, Tannehill would be the best option for the Vikings if he’s healthy. Titans’ rookie QB Will Levis threw for 4 TDs and led the Titans to a win in his debut, and Tannehill is headed for free agency after the season. The Titans should start Levis for the rest of the season, so Tannehill should be available.
