An early Christmas present for Minnesota Vikings fans, but once again it came down to the final minutes.
In this game, the talk was about WR Justin Jefferson and is desire to break Calvin Johnson's single-season receiving yards record. With 12 receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown he is inching even closer and even breaks Randy Moss's franchise record for yards in a season.
Close for much of the game, this featured a back-and-forth between the Vikings and the New York Giants (8-6-1). With the game tied twice and never being more than 10 points of separation between the two.
Business as usually for the Vikings as the majority of their games have been one-score decisions. Including last week's dramatic come from behind overtime victory.
In this game, QB Kirk Cousins played as good a game as he had all year. Completing 70.8% of his passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
While the game seemed out of reach for NY following a blocked punt from Josh Metellus, leading to a Jefferson touchdown with 3:00 to play. A Saquon Barkley touchdown and Daniel Bellinger 2-point conversion tied the game with 2:01 to play.
For the Minnesota Vikings final drive, Cousins once again looked for Jefferson to set up what would be a career-long 61-yard field goal from Greg Joseph as time expires.
Now 12-3, the Vikings are still alive for the number one seed in the NFC. They will need some things to work in their favor but needless to say it will be a Happy Holidays in Minnesota.
