The Minnesota Vikings are going into the by week with a sour taste in their mouth, but the team received a nice boost on Tuesday when star wideout Justin Jefferson was activated off IR.
He was close to playing during Monday night's loss to the Chicago Bears, but wasn't there, just yet. So, it was just a matter of time before it happened.
The timing of the move makes all the sense in the world and it comes at a key time. The Vikings are losing grip on their playoff seeding after two straight losses and two straight Green Bay Packers wins. And, with possible quarterback changes on the horizon, Minnesota needs its best players on the field more than ever.
Jefferson will return to practice once the team gets back to work next week.
The three-time Pro Bowler had recorded 36 receptions for 571-yards and three touchdowns before injuring his hamstring in Week 6. Rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison has played well in Jefferson's stead and the hope is both players can help elevate whomever is playing quarterback after the bye week.
The Vikings quarterback is in pretty good shape considering he'll have those two and T.J. Hockenson to lean on. Throw in the emergence of Ty Chandler and the Vikings offense is a solid one.
