The Minnesota Vikings (12-3) are coming off back-to-back dramatic wins. Inching them closer to a top two seed, with the top still very much in play following a Philadelphia Eagles loss.
A huge credit of which goes to soon-to-be All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson. Who continues to break records, including the most receiving yards in a players first three seasons.
Up to now, the main focus for the Vikings playmaker is how much closer he is to breaking Calvin Johnson's single-season receiving yards record of 1,964.
At the moment, Jefferson has 1,756 yards. 209 yards away from the mark.
A month ago, this wouldn't even have been possible. However, in the last three games he has amassed 479 yards combined. Even against some of the best defenses against the pass.
Their next two games are against the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Two teams Jefferson ran roughshod over already once this season for a combined 21 receptions for 338 yards.
In fact, both defenses are allowing over 200 yards and 65% completion per game. All of which is well below what defenses have allowed to Jefferson on the season. Let alone the last few weeks.
The Minnesota Vikings will be at worst the three seed but have arguably the best weapon in the league. As he gets closer and closer to the yards mark, the momentum he is carrying could land them in higher aspirations than previously considered.
