The Minnesota Vikings (11-3) are off the heels of their most dramatic regular season win in franchise history. A game in which QB Kirk Cousins is receiving heavy praise for manufacturing the turnaround comeback victory.

A result of the win being that the Vikings win the NFC North. With attention put on still potentially winning the number one seed.

Speaking of quarterback, the Vikings are now in the playoffs and are securing depth at key positions. With Cousins as the starter, Minnesota is adding depth behind QB2 Nick Mullens.

Signing former top-10 selection QB Josh Rosen to the practice squad.

Rosen spent one season in Arizona before being traded to Miami after the selection of QB Kyler Murray.

After another unproductive campaign, the Dolphins drafted QB Tua Tagovailoa. Releasing Rosen again.

Since then Rosen has seen time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns since 2020. Having only thrown 11 professional passes in that time span.

There's no certainty if the Minnesota Vikings will even add Rosen to the active roster. Rather this is just a move to secure experienced depth at the most important position.

The way Kirk Cousins is playing, and the reliability Mullens adds, it's unlikely that Rosen will see the field. However, most teams that enter the playoffs have or eventually add a QB3 for insurance.
