The biggest difference is the talent level. The best cornerback on the average college football team is as good as most team's fourth or fifth cornerback. It's just a different level of talent.

That's something the Minnesota Vikings know all too well. They have multiple players who are game-changers with the biggest one being wide receiver Justin Jefferson. New York Giants rookie safety Tyler Nubin brought up Jefferson when he was asked about transitioning to the NFL and how formations don't tell you much.

This is an interesting point about the differences. Having an elite talent like Jefferson does make a major difference in how you can scheme things up. In college, you have a limited amount of great players at your disposal compared to the average NFL team. For example, Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy went 10th overall this season and none of his teammates on offense went in the top 64.

Nubin is plenty familiar with Jefferson as he attended the University of Minnesota and the excitement surrounding the elite wide receiver is felt across the metro area. His comments allow us to understand how things translate from the college ranks which is a really nice thing for us as fans to understand.

It also spells bad news for the Giants who have to deal with Jefferson in week one.
