Now that Brian Flores is in as the Minnesota Vikings Defensive Coordinator, heavy changes are expected. Especially against the pass.

The Vikings ranked as the second-worst pass defense in the NFL, giving up an average of 266 pass yards per game. With a heft portion of the starters and reserves allowing over 60% completion in coverage. The exceptions being CB's Patrick Peterson and Duke Shelley.

Shelley gained his momentum towards the end of the season with an increased role, becoming arguably the Vikings best cornerback down the stretch. Peterson's future in Minnesota is in question as he approaches free agency once again.

If the Vikings are unable to retain the future Hall of Famer, a former Flores corner would be a great replacement.

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Cameron Sutton is headed for free agency as well with an estimated price tag of $7 million per year. Sutton, who will be 28 by the start of next season, is coming off his best season of his career.

Allowing a remarkable 47.9% of passes targeted his way, 388 yards with three interceptions and 15 pass breakups.

All of which would make him CB2 on the Minnesota Vikings at minimum. For a player who's shown the ability to cover in slot as well as outside. With quality play in man coverage.

Sutton, himself, has vocalized his uncertainty of his future in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are just barely under the salary cap and having come off a season with rookie QB Kenny Pickett at the helm, it likely means a reload. Allowing vets to walk in free agency and instead using the draft as the primary source of talent.

While not the sexiest move, it's a move that fits and would work well with the new Vikings defense. Having a player on defense will familiarity and success with Flores would be good move off to a hot start.
