The Minnesota Vikings agreed to a free agent deal with a former NFL Pro Bowler on Tuesday morning.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Vikings have agreed to a deal with former Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones.

Jones was released by the Packers on Monday after he reportedly refused to take a pay cut.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, along with Russini, reported that Green Bay asked Jones to take at least a 50 percent pay cut.

Jones will turn 30 in December, but he showed last season that he still has something left in the tank. He battled injuries last season, but when he was on the field, he was still a very productive running back. Jones averaged nearly six yards per carry over the Packers' final five games of the season. He also rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay's two playoff games.

According to Tom Pelissero, Jones' deal with the Vikings is a one-year deal worth $7 million.

Jones will join a backfield in Minnesota that also includes Ty Chandler and Cam Akers (if Akers returns…he's a restricted free agent this offseason).
