Quarterback Sam Darnold received MVP chants from the Minnesota Vikings crowd on Sunday afternoon when he returned from a knee injury. He isn't the only one saying that Darnold should be the National Football League's Most Valuable Player.

After an excellent four-touchdown performance against the Houston Texans, ESPN's Ryan Clark was ready to proclaim that the Vikings are the best team and Darnold is the frontrunner for MVP.

It's no secret that the Vikings are playing excellent football through the first three weeks of the season and are one of the only undefeated teams remaining in the league. The biggest surprise has been the play of Darnold. He's looked every bit the player that the New York Jets thought they were getting when they selected him third overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

MVP is quite the honor for anyone to receive, as it usually signals both the most valuable and the best player in football. If Darnold continues this trajectory moving forward, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see him in the conversation come January.
