Sullivan, along with the rest of the CBS NFL staff, recently projected the winners of all major awards in 2023. When it came to Offensive Rookie of the Year, running back Bijan Robinson and quarterback Bryce Young were the most popular picks.
However, Sullivan liked the value presented by Addison, who is currently +2200 to win the award.
Robinson received five votes, Young received four, Zay Flowers received two, and Addison and Anthony Richardson each received one.
Addison is an intriguing option for a couple of reasons. For one, the Vikings have had an explosive rookie WR before in Justin Jefferson. As a rookie in 2020, Jefferson burst onto the scene with 88 catches for 1400 yards and 7 TDs. Kirk Cousins is the definition of reliable, so rookie receivers don't have to worry about getting quality targets.
Additionally, the Vikes let Adam Thielen walk this offseason. Thielen received 107 targets in 2022, and those targets will have to go somewhere. KJ Osborn and the rookie Addison appear likely to be the benefactors.
However, the Vikings now have two highly-paid tight ends and will want to get both of them involved. Can thsi offense support huge seasons from Justin Jefferson, TJ Hockenson, and Addison? It will be interesting to watch, that's for sure.
