The Minnesota Vikings released an updated injury report on Thursday. There were some good and some bad from the report.
The good is that there were no new additions to the list. The bad is that one player was moved to the IR and one is still not participating in practice.
Jalen Nailor was limited yesterday but was moved to the IR today after the trade of Cam Akers went through. Josh Metellus, Jordan Hicks, and Christian Darrisaw were all limited yesterday and remained limited Thursday.
Garrett Bradbury was upgraded to limited after not participating yesterday. The center has been out since suffering a back injury in the first half of the opener.
Disappointingly, Marcus Davenport is still not participating at practice. The veteran edge rusher missed the opener and was then active for the week two TNF matchup. However, Davenport only saw four snaps and did not record a statistic. He has been on the injury report since.
Bradbury being upgraded is certainly a positive. Austin Schlottmann has been starting at center in Bradbury's place and has not performed well. It would also be a huge help to get Darrisaw back, who missed last week after initially being cleared to go.
Hicks and Metellus are key parts of the defense and would be huge losses. Metellus is a versatile special teamer who has collected 15 tackles through two games. Hicks is one of the captains of the defense and has 14 tackles and one tackle for loss this season.
We'll see how the Friday report differs from today.
