The Minnesota Vikings have been consistently linked to top cornerback Avieon Terrell, and his workout on Monday didn’t go well.

Over the first 13 weeks of 2026, we have gathered 348 mock drafts for the Minnesota Vikings. The top two prospects have separated themselves from the rest of the pack: Oregon Ducks safety Dillon Thieneman has 92 selections, and Clemson Tigers cornerback Avieon Terrell has 72 selections. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that these two players have been the apple of NFL Draft analysts’ eyes.

Monday brought a private workout for Terrell at Clemson after he was unable to work out during their pro day earlier this month. If things went well, it could vault him up in the first round. That ultimately didn’t end up happening.

Avieon Terrell suffers hamstring injury at private workout

During the workout for multiple scouts and personnel, including 29 teams represented, Terrell entered with a hamstring injury he had just recovered from. Unfortunately, he reaggravated the injury during his first run of the 40-yard dash, and they had to shut down.

It’s a frustrating element to his pre-draft process. Terrell chose not to run at the NFL Scouting Combine, and he had relatively pedestrian jumps with a 34″ vertical and 10’3″ broad jump. Not having a true 40-yard dash time could hurt his draft stock.

With some players, that wouldn’t harm them much at all. However, Terrell doesn’t have what others have: size. He’s only 5-11 and 186 pounds, and that could end up sending him farther down the draft board.

The Vikings are currently slated to select 18th overall, and there is a real chance that he won’t be on their radar at that spot. However, he could be with a trade down. That’s a real possibility for the Vikings when it comes to the first round of the NFL Draft. If that happens, it could help the Vikings get the top cornerback in the NFL Draft.
