The Minnesota Vikings are in a fascinating position to improve their roster. They have approximately $58 million in salary cap space to play with, but their draft capital is limited with just four projected draft picks.

How should the Vikings use them? We are releasing a mock draft every Friday to see what the Vikings should do when it comes to the NFL Draft. The key with these is free agency has yet to occur. Because of that, we are just projecting because free agency will be giving us the information we need for how they will likely approach the NFL Draft.

This one takes a little bit of a different approach by focusing on the running back position.

24. Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

The running back position is quite an interesting one when it comes to the Vikings. They need to find a way to improve the position, as it's arguably more important than fixing the run blocking on the offensive line, especially since Christian Darrisaw is set to return.

Hampton is one of the best running backs in the class, and arguably the most complete. He is a powerhouse at 220 lbs. and thrives in every situation. He can burst through and past defenders to attack on the ground and his versatility on third down makes him the ideal third-down running back.

97. Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas

Cornerback is one position that continues to haunt the Vikings. They need to find a way to fortify the position in a major way. Byron Murphy Jr., Stephon Gilmore, and Shaquill Griffin are all free agents with just Mekhi Blackmon and Dwight McGlothern under contract for 2025.

Bryant fits the prototype of player that Brian Flores likes: long, aggressive, and can play man coverage. Don't let his slender frame fool you. Bryant is one of the more physical players in this class at the cornerback position and attacks the football with malicious intent.

139. CJ West, DT, Indiana

The defensive line is one that the Vikings need to address. They need youth on the interior and find a way to generate a pass rush. It's not often you get someone on day three who can do a little bit of both.

West is a 6'-2", 330 lb. nose tackle who does a great job with leverage at the point of attack. He also gives you just a little bit of pass-rush juice, which is really nice to have when it comes to a nose tackle.

161. Chimere Dike, WR, Florida

Wide receiver is an interesting position when it comes to the Vikings. They don't necessarily need a wide receiver, but Jalen Nailor is set to be a free agent after the season. Plus, Brandon Powell, the team's wide receiver four and punt returner, is a free agent.

The end of the draft is the perfect place to find someone of that ilk and Dike is a great option. A transfer from Wisconsin, the Gators receiver does a little bit of everything for Billy Napier's offense. He can block, attack over the middle, and be a viable asset on special teams. There also appears to be some untapped potential that he flashed at the end of 2024, as Dike was never a featured element in a passing offense until DJ Lagway.
