The Minnesota Vikings are dealing with injuries just like the rest of the teams in the National Football League. Not everyone suffers multiple injuries to their special teams units.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell told the media that former All Pro long snapper Andrew DePaola will need a procedure on his hand and is a candidate for short term injured reserve. They are also potentially in the market for a kicker, as kicker Will Reichard is still being evaluated for his quad injury.

Having consistency at both kicker and long snapper is a really important because so much of the position is based on technical elements. They need to have good chemistry with the holder as well and if you have to replace one of them, it can cause major issues.

Missing both of these players who ended up connecting on the first 30 kicks of the season could be huge for the Vikings as they try to make a Super Bowl run. We've seen plenty of kicker issues and having this isn't going to help things.

We will keep you updated as the story develops.
