The first injury report has been released for the Minnesota Vikings Monday night game against the Chicago Bears and it looks much better than it did last week.
- CB Stephon Gilmore (hamstring): Did not practice
- RB Aaron Jones (back): Limited
- OLB Pat Jones II (knee): Limited
- OLB Andrew Van Ginkel (hip): Limited
- TE Josh Oliver (wrist/ankle): Full
It's worth noting that Thursday's report is based on a walkthrough. This comes the day after the Vikings had a full padded practice. Due to the game being on Monday night, they didn't have to release an injury report for Wednesday.
With that said, no Gilmore is still a concern for the Vikings. The Bears have a trio of wide receivers in Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze and D.J. Moore who are able to attack down the field with Caleb Williams at quarterback.
Van Ginkel played but Jones missed Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Kevin O'Connell was optimistic that Jones would be able to return on Sunday but Van Ginkel went from a thigh injury last week to a hip injury this week. Is it the same injury like Aaron Jones' hamstring injury turned into a hip injury? We don't know for sure, but it's noteworthy that he ended up on the injury report with a new injury.
The Bears have multiple injuries as well, including a few pivotal starters.
- OL Ryan Bates (concussion): Did not practice
- DB Josh Blackwell (shoulder): Did not practice
- DL Gervon Dexter Sr. (knee): Did not practice
- RB Roschon Johnson (concussion): Did not practice
- RB D'Andre Swift (groin): Did not practice
- DB Elijah Hicks (ankle): Limited
- RB Travis Homer (head): Full
