The Minnesota Vikings are incredibly lucky to have defensive coordinator Brian Flores on their team. He's taken the defense to new heights over the last two years, including this season when Flores got a lot of the guys that he needs to run the defense that he wants.

The success he had in 2023 didn't lead to any head coaching interviews which was somewhat of a surprise, even with the pending lawsuit he has with the National Football League and multiple other clubs. That has changed on Monday.

Brian Flores gets first head coaching interview request

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the New York Jets have requested to interview Flores for their vacant head coaching position.

The Jets have already brought in a bunch of candidates for their head coaching position and Flores is someone they are relatively familiar with with his time working for the New England Patriots.

This isn't the first time that Flores will likely get his name called for an interview either. Flores has been linked to the Chicago Bears job on numerous occasions since Matt Eberflus was fired and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him interview with the Bears.

If the Vikings were to lose Flores to another team, it would net them two third-round compensatory selections.
