Daniel Jeremiah's 2025 NFL Mock Draft sends the Vikings an explosive prospect who would drastically help the running game
NFL mock drafts are a fascinating exercise. We have tracked 184 different mock drafts for the Minnesota Vikings and there have been 35 different prospects sent to the Vikings. Of those prospects, five of them have been at the running back position. It feels a little odd that the Vikings would end up taking a running back in the first round, but when you consider the struggles they have had in the running game since Dalvin Cook left after the 2022 season.
Vikings select TreVeyon Henderson in NFL Mock Draft
The latest mock draft dropped from NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah and it's a scorcher. The Vikings don't just take a running back, but not one that has been commonly mocked to them in Ohio State's TreVeyon Henderson.
The Vikings have had an up-close look at what a dynamic runner can do for an offense that also features a loaded passing attack (SEE: Jahmyr Gibbs in Detroit). Minnesota finds its own RB weapon in Henderson, with Aaron Jones headed for free agency.
This is a fascinating one for the Vikings. He is the third running back taken in this mock draft with Ashton Jeanty going to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Omarion Hampton to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Henderson is a really good player with explosiveness, but the injury concerns are real with Henderson, as he's missed multiple games with injuries in his career. This is what my scouting report on Henderson says:
Henderson is a really impressive running back that is well-rounded and explosive. There are a lot of running backs in this class, but he is arguably the most well-rounded prospect. If he stays healthy, Henderson could be very impactful from day one.a
The Vikings could use a back like Henderson in their room, especially one who can be both consistent and hit a home run. Pairing Henderson with Aaron Jones for the next year or two is a very appealing element for the Vikings offense.
Henderson could impact the Vikings' running game tenfold but it would be an interesting selection, especially above Kaleb Johnson, who most have as a top running back in the class. I see him as a third-round player who is very replaceable in a zone scheme. Henderson is a true home run hitter in multiple facets.
