Multiple Minnesota Vikings received All-Pro honors after a down season, and the names may surprise you
Next Gen Stats named Eric Wilson and Will Reichard as All-Pro selections for the 2025 season and it’s much deserved.
It was a trying season for the Minnesota Vikings in 2025.
Finishing 9-8, the vibes certainly didn’t feel that way during the course of the season. Head coach Kevin O’Connell was able to rally the team to wins in their final five games to earn the 18th overall pick, but it ended up being too little too late.
Even so, there were still bright spots. The Vikings had two players earn All-Pro honors from Next Gen Stats, and they aren’t who you might think.
ILB Eric Wilson
“Wilson emerged as a centerpiece of Brian Flores’ defense in 2025. The Vikings allowed 4.5 yards per play when Wilson was on the field, compared with 6.5 when he was off the field, the largest split of any defender with 100+ snaps on and off. Wilson’s 22.5% pressure rate was the highest by any player with 150+ pass rushes since 2022, his 4.4 yards per target allowed in coverage were the fewest among linebackers and his 20 run stuffs were the third-most in the NFL.”
Wilson has been one of the best stories on defense this season. He was signed by the Vikings to be a depth player, but ended up starting every game after Week 1. He initially got into the starting lineup due to Blake Cashman’s hamstring injury and stayed due to the subpar play by Ivan Pace Jr.
The biggest aspect of Wilson’s game has been his blitzing. He attacks forward at a high level, and was second on the team in sacks for his trouble.
K Will Reichard
“Brandon Aubrey paced the position for most of the season before faltering late. Cam Little’s record-setting distance made him an enticing option, as well, but Reichard’s full body of work outperformed the competition. Reichard hit 94.3% of his attempts despite a high degree of difficulty (74.6% expected FG%); his +19.7% FG probability over expected was the highest in the last decade by any kicker with 30+ attempts. And he was no slouch on distance, either, converting the seventh-longest kick of the season at 62 yards.”
Reichard is one of the better kickers in the NFL. He should be an All-Pro when the Associated Press makes its list. He earned the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month award for December after making all 12 field goals and 12 extra points. That includes being 3-3 on kicks of 50+ yards, adding to his 11-13 record of 50+ yard field goals, which broke Blair Walsh’s team record of 10 in a season.
