The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in their final preseason game with the hopes of going 3-0. It would give head coach Kevin O'Connell his first undefeated preseason with the Vikings.

We won't be seeing the starters in the game and that's for the best. The bottom of the roster needs to see players stand out in order to make the roster. How things sit right now will have some of them both on and off the roster.

What does the depth chart look like? Here is our projection going into the final preseason game.

Quarterback

Starter: Sam Darnold
Second string: Nick Mullens
Third string: Jaren Hall
Fourth string: Matt Corral

Can Hall make the roster and Corral the practice squad? That is what we should be mindful of when watching the game against the Eagles on Saturday. The third QB rule has been modified to include the practice squad, making it less permanent to have one on the roster.

Running back

Starter: Aaron Jones and C.J. Ham (FB)
Second string: Ty Chandler
Third string: Kene Nwangwu
Fourth string: Myles Gaskin OR DeWayne McBride
Fifth string: Mohamed Ibrahim

The latter three running backs are in a fight not to make the roster, but to get a spot on the practice squad. Ibrahim is the newest back but the timing of his signing feels more about his health than anything.

Wide receiver

Starter: Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison
Second string: Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell
Third string: Trishton Jackson, Jeshaun Jones and Trent Sherfield
Fourth string: Lucky Jackson, Justin Hall, Thayer Thomas and Malik Knowles

I believe Jones has a chance to make the team with a great game. On the other hand, Sherfield needs to take a step forward to solidify himself on the roster.

Tight end

Starter: T.J. Hockenson and Josh Oliver
Second string: Johnny Mundt and Nick Muse
Third string: Robert Tonyan and N'Keal Harry
Fourth string: Sammis Reyes

What's the status of Tonyan? He was carted off with back spasms during practice a couple of seeks ago but has since returned to practice. He might not make the team due to his lack of playing time but the Vikings were high on him during OTAs and minicamp.

Offensive tackle

First string: Christian Darrisaw (LT) and Brian O'Neill (RT)
Second string: Walter Rouse (LT) and David Quessenberry (RT)
Third string: Spencer Rolland (LT) and Doug Nester (RT)

Nothing really to see here, although Rouse was seen working in at right guard during Thursday's practice.

Interior offensive line

First string: Blake Brandel (LG), Garrett Bradbury (C) and Ed Ingram (RG)
Second string: Michael Jurgens (LG), Dan Feeney (C) and Dalton Risner (RG)
Third string: Tyrese Robinson (LG), Henry Byrd (C) and Chuck Filiaga (RG)
Fourth string: Matt Cindric (C)

The key in this group is going to be the play of Jurgens. If he can rebound from the poor performance, he could earn the final roster spot over Risner. Keep an eye out for Robinson as well, as he's shown promise.

Outside linebacker/edge rusher

First string: Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel
Second string: Pat Jones II and Dallas Turner
Third string: Andre Carter II and Jihad Ward
Fourth string: Owen Porter, Gabriel Murphy and Bo Richter

Edge rusher is a fascinating group and who makes the final roster will depend on how Brian Flores wants to construct the room. How much is he going to value upside versus immediate success? Plus, will there be a trade on the horizon for someone like Jones or Ward?

Defensive tackle

Starter: Harrison Phillips, Jonathan Bullard and Jerry Tillery
Second string: Jaquelin Roy, Levi Drake Rodriguez and Taki Taimani
Third string: Jalen Redmond, Jonah Williams, James Lynch and Tyler Manoa

This group is the most intriguing across the team. Not even the starters feel set in stone, especially with Tillery not having played a single snap during the preseason after suffering a gash on his leg. Rodriguez and Taimani have risen up the depth chart over the last few weeks.

Inside linebacker

First string: Blake Cashman and Ivan Pace Jr.
Second string: Kamu Grugier-Hill and Brian Asamoah II
Third string: Dallas Gant and Jordan Kunaszyk

Can Gant paly well enough to usurp either Asamoah or Grugier-Hill? After their rough performances in coverage against the Browns, it's certainly a possibility.

Cornerback

First string: Stephon Gilmore and Byron Murphy Jr.
Second string: Akayleb Evans, Shaquill Griffin and Dwight McGlothern
Third string: Fabian Moreau and Jaylin Williams
Fourth string: A.J. Green III, Duke Shelley and Nahshon Wright

The cornerback depth is feeling better now than it has in prior years. The final cornerback spot is likely between McGlothern and Moreau with both having the chance to make the team.

Safety

First string: Harrison Smith and Camryn Bynum
Second string: Joshua Metellus and Theo Jackson
Third string: Jay Ward and Lewis Cine
Fourth string: Bobby McCain

Nothing crazy here. The biggest battle might be with Ward and Cine for the likely fifth safety spot. The Vikings kept six last season but it seems unlikely it will happen this year.
