The 2024 sesaon has been over for the Minnesota Vikings for a week and the offseason is in full effect.

The first part of the offseason is focused more on reflection and looking forward with a broad brush. There will be a lot of instances and time to look at the NFL Draft with the all-star circuit beginning this week along with the NFL Scouting Combine coming up at the end of February.

One of the interesting elements with the Vikings is the salary cap. They are in a better situation now than they were when general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah took over as general manager in January of 2022 and that health could elevate the Vikings to the next level.

Vikings have most snaps in NFL to replace

As the Vikings enter the offseason, they have a lot of free agents to replace. Even if you don't include quarterback Sam Darnold, they still have some major pieces to replace, including quarterback Byron Murphy Jr. and safety Camryn Bynum. In totality, the Vikings have to replace 45.4% of their 2024 snaps, the most in the National Football League.

The interesting thing about how many snaps the Vikings need to replace is how many are from players who weren't likely to return, as Darnold took 1,110 snaps, cornerback Stephon Gilmore with 860, left tackle Cam Robinson took 706. 2,676 snaps for players that weren't in the long-term plans of the Vikings, as they were all meant to be bridge players.

Now, Darnold is the one that's up in the air, as his performance might get him another year or two with the Vikings. That's been the biggest discussion point among both fans and media over the last few weeks.

Needless to say, the Vikings team in 2025 will look a lot different in 2024.
