The Minnesota Vikings made their first big splash on Monday morning. They have a deal in place to sign edge rusher Jonathan Greenard. He was an impact defender for the Houston Texans over the past two seasons.

According to Tom Pelissero, Vikings star Danielle Hunter will head to a new team after the Greenard move.

That comes as no surprise. Hunter has been in trade rumors since last offseason, and now, the addition of Greenard opens the door for his exit. Hunter has been a top edge rusher in the NFC during his time with the Vikings.

Hunter totaled 16.5 sacks last season. He recorded 87.5 sacks over the course of his time in Minnesota.

It's tough to see the Vikings dishing out another massive contract to a pass rusher.

Minnesota will most likely look elsewhere to address needs. They need more playmakers in their secondary and could use depth on both their offensive and defensive line. Not to mention, Kirk Cousins' decision looms for the future of their QB position.
