Despite the football world wanting Aaron Rodgers to start for the Minnesota Vikings, it's going to be second year quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Vikings selected him with the 10th overall pick, so it makes complete sense they would choose to go that route.

Since he was selected by the Vikings last April, McCarthy has done relatively limited media, but he did sit down with Kay Adams on Up and Adams at the NFLPA Golf Tournament in Mexico.

J.J. McCarthy talks about his knee

One of Adams's first questions was about the health of his knee, and McCarthy was very clear: he's healthy.

"I would say I'm 100% but, you know, thank you. Cheers to that. But, yeah, just staying consistent with the rehab process and not wavering from that, and just staying disciplined with all the outside stuff and making sure, you know, I'm not chopping too much wood and doing all that fun stuff."

That's huge for the Vikings as they try to build a Super Bowl champion in Minnesota. McCarthy is going to be a big piece to that puzzle.

One of the main reasons — well, besides how well he can throw a football — the Vikings drafted him was who McCarthy is as a person. He was more than able to handle the rehab process and called it a blessing.

"It was an ultimate blessing. Because, you know, it's just such a time of stillness, where you get really, get to reflect and introspect and, you know, find a routine, especially early on in this career, in this profession, like it's huge for young guys to find that habitual routine that they can rely on, you know, stay consistent with. So I would say that was the biggest thing for me."

Vikings fans don't have to worry about McCarthy being ready to go. You can already tell he's mentally ready to rock and roll. You can check out the full interview below.
