The Minnesota Vikings are only a few days away from beginning the season against the New York Giants on Sunday, September 8th. When they take the field at Met Life Stadium, there is a chance they do so without their emerging star wide receiver Jordan Addison.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell spoke to reporters ahead of Wednesday afternoon's practice and gave a positive update on Addison.

Included in the tweet from The Athletic's Alec Lewis is an unfortunate note about Nailor who injured his ankle during practice last week. That explains why he was practicing off to the side on Monday.

Getting Addison to return to the field in time for Sunday's game would be huge for the Vikings. He suffered a sprained ankle during the joint practices with the Cleveland Browns and had the Vikings and their fanbase holding their collective breath because the injury in real time seemed worse than it ended up being.

If Addison is able to play, the Vikings offense will be in good shape for Sam Darnold's first start as a Viking. If Nailor can't play, Brandon Powell would be primed to step up.
