Talent comes from many different sources. Finding the best talent is a difficult challenge, as we've seen time after time teams whiff on draft picks. Those whiffs are the result of multiple different reasons.

Teams will misevaluate a player and believe they can do something they haven't shown before, miss on injuries, or just have a poor evaluation. On the flip side, misses cam be the fault of the players. The good part about players who aren't successful in their first NFL stint is the existence of the UFL to keep their pro football dreams alive.

Multiple former Vikings are on UFL rosters

Over the course of his three years as the general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been creative with his player acquisitions. One area that he's targeted are free agents outside of unrestricted free agency.

Adofo-Mensah has done a great job in intensifying undrafted free agent talent with eight of them making the roster. The other area he's been unafraid to attack is players who have played in the UFL.

Last summer, the Vikings signed defensive end Jalen Redmond to the 90-man roster. He didn't just make the opening day roster, but Redmond earned a starting role by the end of the year. FInding those talents can be crucial to constructing the back end of your roster. Wide receiver Lucky Jackson has been on the practice squad for the last two seasons and even earned a promotion to the active roster in 2023.

The eight team UFL is filled with players hoping to get another chance in the NFL, including 11 former Minnesota Vikings. Some of them are going to be very memorable, with others being just on the 90-man roster. This could give you a reason to enjoy the spring league.
