The Minnesota Vikings have released their final injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions and there are multiple players that won't suit up for the purple and gold on Sunday.
ILB Blake Cashman and CB Akayleb Evans will miss the game as they have been ruled out.
Tight end T.J. Hockenson, offensive lineman Dalton Risner, running back Aaron Jones and outside linebacker Pat Jones II are all listed as questionable.
Not having Cashman on Sunday could play a major role in how successful the Vikings' defense is at stopping the Lions' run game and more so in zone coverage in the passing game. Ivan Pace Jr. and Kamu Grugier-Hill will be filling in for Cashman and will make an impact.
Jones potentially playing is a big deal for the Vikings. They are significantly more explosive and efficient when Jones is on the field and the end of the week five matchup with the New York Jets is a perfect example of that.
Hockenson and Risner practicing all week is a great sign for both him and the franchise. However, a week eight matchup just four days later against the Los Angeles Rams could be the return date for both players. Both players are questionable which is a positive development.
Saturday's practice squad elevations will tell us more about what will end up happening for the Vikings on Sunday.
The Vikings’ success in one phase is pivotal to beating the Lions
The pathway to beating the Lions is easy in theory
