There are no words to describe the events that took place in U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota Vikings (11-3) fought back from a 33-0 halftime deficit to outlast the Indianapolis Colts (4-9-1) in overtime by the score of 39-36. The Vikings’ 33-point comeback is the largest come from behind win in the NFL’s rich history.

To make the victory even sweeter, Minnesota clinches its first NFC North title since 2017.

The Vikings put forth one of its most anemic first half efforts in franchise history. However, first-year head coach Kevin O’Connell made the necessary adjustments while simultaneously lighting a fire under a group that had spent the first 30 minute sleep walking.

Minnesota overcame three turnovers, including a Kirk Cousins interception that Indianapolis returned for a touchdown, and a blocked punt that went for six.

Not only did the Vikings have to battle back from self-inflicted wounds, but the officiating crew cost the team two touchdowns. Vikings cornerback Chandon Sullivan returned two fumbles for touchdowns, but the officials blew each play dead, nullifying both scoop-and-scores.

This is a win that will be discussed for a long time in Minnesota. It also has the ability to serve as a reference point as the Vikings trudge toward postseason play. No matter the deficits the Vikings may face or the obstacles in their way, this game proves that there is no mountain too steep to climb for this team.
