Weaknesses

  • Leverage: Campbell is a very good player, but when he engages with blockers, he keeps his pad level a little too high, causing him to get washed out/stood up.
  • Physicality: While he has the perfect build for a linebacker in today's day and age, Campbell needs to be more willing to engage physically and drive blockers with power.

Campbell is an excellent prospect for multiple reasons. He isn't just a modern day linebacker, but also a throwback where he can play the run at a high level. What separates Campbell from the rest of the class is how great he is in coverage, where he can run the pole in Tampa-2. That's a rare trait for the linebacker position at his size.

It's also something that defensive coordinator Brian Flores would love to have on defense. Blake Cashman already is good in pass coverage, but Ivan Pace Jr. struggles in that area. Having two great linebackers that can do everything would elevate the defense to new heights, especially with the versatility that both Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel bring.

Campbell's addition would bring a ton of versatility and confusion, which plays into Flores' favor.
