NFL mock drafts are exciting to keep track of over the course of the offseason.

For the Minnesota Vikings, they have selected 24 different positions across 63 different industry mock drafts through the first 19 days of 2025.

  • Offensive Line: 8
  • Cornerback: 7
  • Defensive Tackle: 3
  • Edge Rusher: 3
  • Running Back: 3

There is a common trend among the first group of mock drafts: the trenches and cornerback, both of which are major needs. However, there are different paths that the Vikings can take, and mock drafts are a good place to test out different theories.

Vikings select ILB Jihaad Campbell in latest NFL mock draft

A to Z Sports' AJ Schulte took a different approach when writing his latest mock draft by sending the Vikings Alabama inside linebacker Jihaad Campbell.

Imagine if the Vikings' defense had another versatile monster in the middle of the defense to both drop in coverage and rush the passer. That kind of elite linebacker play is something the Vikings miss.

Jihaad Campbell is a rare throwback linebacker prospect with his versatility. He has shot up draft boards with his freakish athleticism for his 6'3, 244-pound frame. Campbell is a capable do-it-all 'backer who can carry vertical routes just as easily as he can scrape across the formation in pursuit of a ball carrier.

It's a really interesting idea to send the Vikings a linebacker in the first round. If you choose to make that kind of selection, it speaks volumes on how you feel about Campbell.

Campbell is an incredible athlete who can do everything you would ever ask a linebacker to do and then some. He can be the pole runner in Tampa-2 and cover the athletic monsters the league now offers at tight end with ease.

The Vikings don't even need a linebacker per se with Blake Cashman and Ivan Pace Jr. in the fold, but this would be an incredible addition that would make the Vikings' defense a juggernaut and create a lot more versatility that defensive coordinator Brian Flores loves to have.
