The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon, and they will do so with J.J. McCarthy starting for the 10th time this season.

While neither team has anything to play for, these two teams hate each other and will want to get the win. Even so, we may see more of a preseason game on Sunday, with the game having no stakes.

The final injury report is out and shows multiple Vikings and Packers starters out on Sunday.

Observations

  • McCarthy is starting on Sunday, which will be his 10th start in the NFL. Whether or not it’s a good idea is up to interpretation, but it will give the Vikings more information.
  • Hockenson and Jones being out isn’t much of a surprise. It could mean the end of their time in Minnesota.
  • O’Neill and Mason will return to the field on Sunday, helping the Vikings get more information on McCarthy.
  • Bartholomew being shut down means he won’t play a single regular or preseason game as a rookie.

Observations

  • The Packers are going to rest players on Sunday with the Packers set to play in the playoffs as the seventh seed.
  • We learned Thursday morning that Clayton Tune will start on Sunday. Love cleared concussion protocol and could be the backup with Willis being questionable.
  • Tom being questionable likely means he won’t play on Sunday, but it’ll be worth watching.
