The National Football League has made the decision to move the Minnesota Vikings' week 17 game against the Green Bay Packers from noon CST to 3:25 CST. The flex makes it America's Game of the Week on Fox with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call.
This comes a week after the NFL declined to move the game to Sunday Night Football with the NFL prioritizing the Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders for that spot. There was some speculation that Fox had the ability to protect it because CBS had the first edition of the border battle.
This is the second time the Vikings have been flexed this season with the first instance coming in week nine when they faced the Indianapolis Colts. The game was moved to Sunday night and they won it 21-13.
This is the third consecutive season the Vikings have faced the Packers in week 17. They lost 41-17 at Lambeau Field in 2022 and 33-10 at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2023. This game will have bigger stakes than the last couple of meetings. The Vikings need to win their final two games to secure the NFC North title. If they beat the Packers, the Vikings' week 18 game against the Detroit Lions will be on Sunday Night Football for the NFC North and the number one seed.
