Whenever you can get compared to a group highlighted by multiple Hall of Fame players, it's an impressive feat.
Over the course of the Minnesota Vikings' history, they have seen multiple Hall of Fame players wear the purple and gold. Overall, 22 members of the Minnesota Vikings at some point have entered the Hall of Fame with nine of them coming from the trenches. That doesn't include Jared Allen, who is a semifinalist for the 2025 class.
Vikings' pass rush is achieving great things
Through 11 games this season, the Vikings are third in the NFL with 38 sacks while the two teams in front of them in the Denver Broncos (44) and the Houston Texans (42) have played in one more game than the Vikings.
The trio of Jonathan Greenard, Andrew Van Ginkel and Pat Jones II have combined for 25.0 of the 38 sacks this season and they are the first trio to have that many sacks in the first 11 games since the 1993 season when Hall of Famers Chris Doleman and John Randle had 25.5 sacks with Henry Thomas.
What the Vikings pass rush has been able to accomplish this season has been really impressive, especially when you consider the blitz rate has dropped over 25% from the first four games this season down to 33.3% per Pro Football Reference. They are also second in pressure percentage per PFR at 26.7% and the ability to impact the quarterback has been a huge factor in the Vikings' success this season.
Luckily for the Vikings, they are showing no signs of slowing down, as Greenard had two sacks and Van Ginkel one on Sunday.
