The Minnesota Vikings released their inactive list ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks and they included a brutally important player on the defense.
- S Harrison Smith
- CB Fabian Moreau
- TE Nick Muse
- DL Jalen Redmond
- C Dan Feeny
- OT Walter Rouse
- QB Brett Rypien (third QB)
The news about Smith is a tough pill to swallow, as he is such an important part of the defense. The Vikings added Smith to the injury report on Thursday when he did not practice on Thursday afternoon. More concern was added when the Vikings elevated Bobby McCain from the practice squad on Saturday.
The other players on the list aren't much of a surprise. Redmond and Moreau were already ruled out and both Feeney and Rouse have regularly been inactive. Muse is also inactive as a practice squad elevation, but fullback C.J. Ham is active which is likely why Muse was elevated.
The other aspects of the active roster include the return of Stephon Gilmore and seventh-round pick Levi Drake Rodriguez is active for the second time this season. With Redmond out, Rodriguez might see his first defensive snaps this season, something the fanbase will love to see.
The Vikings and Seahawks kick off at 3:05 CST.
