The quarterback position for the Minnesota Vikings continues to be in the news.

Wednesday's press conference with general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was the first time we had gotten to hear from him after free agency. The hope was to hear about the multitude of free agents that the Vikings signed, but nearly all we heard about was how the Vikings didn't sign Aaron Rodgers.

AJ Hawk provides update on Aaron Rodgers

The conversation surrounding the Vikings should focus on J.J. McCarthy's future. Unfortunately, Adofo-Mensah didn't close the door on signing Rodgers.

"Right now, you know, given all our scenario planning, we're happy with our room. And you know, obviously we're going to talk a lot about agent McCarthy, but Brett Rypien, who something we brought in last off season, we thought made a lot of great decisions quick positioning processing, and people give credit for accurate passers, so we're excited about him, and we're always going to keep looking to see if we can upgrade that position, just like every other position."

It wouldn't be a good idea for the Vikings to completely close the door on anyone, especially without knowing the future. On The Pat McAfee Show, co-host AJ Hawk, who played with Rodgers in Green Bay, spoke about what his future looks like.

"Yeah, they didn't close the door completely. That's the thing, like you had the opportunity to close the door completely publicly, at least if you were the Vikings, and you didn't not. So what does that tell you? I don't know if that means there's a possibility that the Vikings would want to bring them in or not, but it means there's, there's got to be some kind of chance in that, correct?

"I mean, I do know that he actually really likes all the Pittsburgh staff. He loves the staff the front office, everything about Pittsburgh. Yeah, the people. there, that's what makes the Steelers the Steelers. From the top down, I think he definitely loves all that"

Hawk doesn't speak much on the show, but when he does, it's something you need to listen to. He knows Rodgers as good as anyone, and it's the likely reason why he appears on the show to begin with.

We all will continue playing the waiting game when it comes to Rodgers.
