Much like the 2022 season, the Minnesota Vikings will be on a mission to prove doubters wrong in 2023.
The Vikings established the fact that they have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL. With stars like Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, T.J. Hockenson and Dalvin Cook on offense, along with an upgrade a defensive coordinator, it’s surprising to see the Vikings facing disrespect from oddsmakers.
BetMGM released the opening odds for Super Bowl LVIII and many Vikings fans will be stunned to see where Minnesota checks in.
The Vikes fall right into the middle of the pack, tied for 16th with 40/1 odds to bring home the Lombardi Trophy in 2024. However, there are a handful of undeserving teams garnering more respect than Minnesota.
The Lions (25/1), Packers (25/1), Rams (30/1) and Saints (30/1) are four surprising NFC teams with better odds than the Vikings. There will always be people who sleep on the Vikes, but for oddsmakers to list Minnesota third in the NFC North is shocking.
There will be plenty of time for this to change with free agency and the draft looming in the offseason. That being said, it’s certainly a surprise to see the Vikings so far down this list.
