The Minnesota Vikings’ search for a complimentary wide receiver across from Justin Jefferson might be much more simple than most fans think.

In a recent article penned by Pro Football Focus’ Sam Monson, the Vikings are listed as a potential trade fit for Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy.

"Jeudy has been an elite separator in the NFL, excelling against man coverage, but has yet to fully realize his potential within a struggling offense. He may be limited to a No. 2 type of role in the NFL, but he can be an exceptionally effective receiver as part of a receiving corps in a more functional passing offense. Several teams would love to have him as a complement to their already established No. 1 option."

The other teams listed along with the Vikings as potential fits for Jeudy are the New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans.

Jeudy’s elite route-running abilities allow him to operate in the slot as well as on the outside. With defenders already concerned about Jefferson’s big play ability, Jeudy would force defensive backs to cover every blade of grass vertically as well as horizontally.

In 2022, Jeudy registered 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns. It was a career year for the 23-year-old, who was often frustrated with subpar play from QB Russel Wilson. Jeudy’s potential is through the roof, but his numbers don’t compare to some of the game’s top-flight receivers.

The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reports that the Broncos are asking for a at least a first-round pick in exchange for Jeudy. Perhaps GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah could talk Denver down to a second-round pick and a player as part of a package for Jeudy.

Even if the Broncos’ asking price seems a bit high, Adofo-Mensah should at least put in a call to the Broncos in order to gauge trade interest. Adding Jeudy would give the Vikings a true triple threat as he would join Jefferson and TE T.J. Hockenson in one of the NFL’s most lethal passing offenses.
