Vikings Tuesday injury report sees an important addition, along with a change in Carson Wentz’s status
The injury report is getting more clear going into Thursday.
The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers are set to face off on Thursday night. It will be the third time that the Vikings will have played a Thursday night game in Los Angeles since 2018.
Heading into the game, both teams are very beat up. The Vikings named Carson Wentz the starting quarterback, but J.J. McCarthy took a big step forward with a workout on Tuesday morning. Getting him back will be key, but it’s going to be another week.
Aaron Jones had his practice window activated, which is huge for his return to the field. Will he play on Thursday? We don’t know that for sure, but he did make estimated injury report. Here is the rest of it.
Minnesota Vikings Tuesday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| LG Donovan Jackson | Wrist | Full/Full | |
| DT Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins | Hip | Full/Full | |
| QB Carson Wentz | Left Shoulder | Limited/Full | |
| EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel | Neck | Limited/Limited | |
| RB Zavier Scott | Wrist | Limited/Limited | |
| QB J.J. McCarthy | Ankle | Limited/Limited | |
| RT Brian O’Neill | Knee | DNP/DNP | |
| FB C.J. Ham | Hand | DNP/DNP | |
| RB Aaron Jones | Hamstring | None/Limited |
Observations
- It’s important to note that this is an estimated practice report. The Vikings didn’t have a full practice on Tuesday due to the short week.
- With McCarthy being named the emergency QB and Wentz the starter, their designations aren’t much of a surprise.
- O’Neill being listed as a did not practice is likely due to him still recovering from a sprained MCL. There is a chance he misses Thursday’s game because it’s a short week, but we won’t know until Thursday afternoon.

Observations
- The Chargers are very beat up on the offensive line, and it’s no surprise to see multiple players on the list. The OL struggled massively against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon.
- Of the Chargers’ offensive linemen on the report, the biggest one is Alt. The fifth-overall pick in 2024 has been a stud at both left tackle and right tackle.
