The Minnesota Vikings continue to deal with injuries on both sides of the football. This week, it’s all about the trenches.

In Wednesday’s injury report, left tackle Christian Darrisaw, right tackle Brian O’Neill, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, and center Ryan Kelly all didn’t practice, plus edge rusher Jonathan Greenard and safety Josh Metellus were placed on injured reserve.

Thursday’s injury report saw some significant improvement for the Vikings.

Observations

  • Christian Darrisaw continues to be front and center for the Vikings on this list. He’s missed every Thursday practice with the recovery of his knee injury.
  • Gavin Bartholomew practiced for the first time this year on Wednesday and was a full participant for the first time on Thursday. He’s unlikely to be activated for Sunday’s game based on this team’s history of handling players who have their practice window activated, but it’s a great sign.
  • I wouldn’t expect to see Hargrave on Sunday with the thigh injury he left Sunday’s game with.

Observations

  • Evan Neal was the one player to take a step back on Thursday.
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux’s absence will limit the Giants’ pass-rush versatility, and not having him for two-straight days is a tough one.
