The Vikings had everything in front of them on Sunday night, but they couldn't get it done, mainly due to their lack of success in the red zone. They failed to score on two drives in the red zone and had two failed fourth downs in the red area.

The matchup will be one that the Vikings have had already once this year when they traveled to SoFi Stadium in week eight and lost to the Rams 30-20 on Thursday Night Football.

Both teams are in a much different spot than they were in that game, but there is one common thread: the Vikings will be coming off of a loss to the Lions like they were back in week eight.

Things aren't the way the Vikings wanted them to go, but they will try to be the third number five seed to win the Super Bowl after the 2007 New York Giants and 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers did earlier in the 21st century. It's worth noting that the Buccaneers did so in the first season with 14 playoff teams.
