The Minnesota Vikings revealed their sleek, new Winter Warrior uniforms earlier in the week and man, are people going to be hyped when they don them for the first time on Monday, December 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
It'll be a long wait, but it'll be well worth it. As we all know, good things come with time. To make things even better, the Vikings will wear the unis while hosting the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, where they'll get a chance to avenge last year's ugly 12-10 home loss on, yes, Monday Night Football.
There's obviously a long way to go before all of that, though, and it starts with a trip to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants in the season opener. As it turns out, the Giants will be donning a brand new uniform of their own for that matchup.
And, um, let's just say their threads are… interesting?
Let's be real: Those are ugly as hell. The Giants are probably wanting to go ahead and get them out of the way so they don't have to worry about them for the rest of the year.
With all due respect, I'm sure a ton of time and effort went into the designing and executing the idea. And the people involved are so much more talented, in that field, then I am or ever will be. But, bad ideas are bad ideas, ultimately, and anyone is capable of producing them, no matter how good they are at their job.
But hey, if anything, maybe the audacity of the uniforms provide enough distraction to where the G-Men can crank out a win at home and get the season off to a good start? If that's the strategy, then kudos them for playing the long game.
In all seriousness, though, the Giants are currently -1 point favorites, per DraftKings Sportsbook. That could quickly change depending on what happens at the quarterback position for both teams. Until then, the Vikings can hang onto the fact that their alternate uniforms are miles better than the Giants'.
It's an ugly win, but as we all know, a win is a win.
