It's been quite the summer for the Minnesota Vikings and star pass rusher Danielle Hunter. It all started with him skipping mini camp and then he decided to hold out from the first few days if training camp as well. Hunter was looking for a new deal. He got one on Sunday.
That's a big win for the Vikings. After weeks of trade rumors and an offseason that saw them lose a lot of their talent on defense, the Vikings stuck to their guns and were able to get a deal done to keep one of their very best players.
Hunter finished the 2022 season with 10.5 sacks. That marked the fourth time that he's finished the season with double digit sacks. Three of those came in the last four years. you can see why the Vikings wanted to keep him so badly.
The deal is just a one year deal. So the Vikings will have to go back to the drawing board again after the season. but for now, they hold onto to one of their best defensive players.
