Minnesota Vikings first Week 4 injury report brings massive news that will will ease the minds of fans
It’s a huge deal for the Vikings
Going into their first of two consecutive games in Europe against AFC North foes, the Minnesota Vikings released their first injury report. There are some really interesting names on the report, but the Vikings are known to be a little conservative with their players.
Minnesota Vikings Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| OT Justin Skule | Concussion | Full | |
| DT Jalen Redmond | Hand | Full | |
| C Ryan Kelly | Concussion | Full | |
| S Josh Metellus | Foot | Limited | |
| TE Ben Yurosek | Knee | DNP | |
| EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel | Neck | DNP | |
| QB J.J. McCarthy | Ankle | DNP | |
| OG Donovan Jackson | Wrist | DNP | |
| DL Javon Hargrave | Chest | DNP | |
| DL Jonathan Allen | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP |
Observations
- The biggest piece here is no Christian Darrisaw on the injury report. He should be a full go heading into Sunday’s game.
- The Vikings are likely to get both Skule and Kelly back from their concussions this week. Having Kelly will be huge, and Skule will be relegated back to his swing tackle role.
- It’s noteworthy that Hargrave could have returned on Sunday with his injury, but he’s not practicing. Is it just a precautionary DNP, or is that something to read into?
- McCarthy not practicing makes sense. They are going to take it easy with him.
- Head coach Kevin O’Connell mentioned Van Ginkel’s injury is more precautionary during Wednesday’s press conference. “He came out of the game feeling pretty good, and then just has had some residual issues more tied to probably the neck. I would say he’s out of the protocol. And cleared that through the medical process last week, and now we’re just, you know, working through what his week’s going to look like leading into Sunday.”
Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| RB Jaylen Warren | Not Injury Related/Rest | Limited | |
| LB Patrick Queen | Oblique | Limited | |
| CB Joey Porter Jr. | Hamstring | Limited | |
| S DeShon Elliott | Knee | Limited | |
| EDGE T.J. Watt | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP | |
| TE Jonnu Smith | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP | |
| CB Darius Slay | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP | |
| OL Isaac Seumalo | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP | |
| EDGE Alex Highsmith | Ankle | DNP | |
| DT Cam Heyward | Not Injury Related/Rest | DNP |
Observations
- The Steelers gave six players rest days, which isn’t a huge deal with how many older veterans they have on the roster.
- Highsmith is going to be one to watch on the report. If he’s out, it will be a huge deficit to their pass rush.
- Porter playing will be huge for the Steelers when it comes to trying to stop Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
