It’s beginning to feel like all of the stars in the football galaxy are aligning for the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings eked out another thrilling win in its Christmas Eve matchup against the New York Giants. After scoring to take an eight-point lead with just over three minutes remaining, the Giants marched right down the field to tie it up with 2:01 on the clock.
However, Kirk Cousins and the Vikings offense did just enough to position kicker Greg Joseph for a game-winning 61-yard field goal. Joseph’s late-game heroics secured the second heart-pounding victory in as many weeks for Minnesota.
The Vikings (12-3) are like a cockroach in the fact that they just won’t die. No matter the obstacles in front of the team, this group manages to stay the course, having now rattled off its 12th victory of the year.
Minnesota received contributions from all of its stars in the win. Justin Jefferson topped Randy Moss’ franchise record for receiving yards in a single season, T.J. Hockenson had his biggest game as a Viking, and Patrick Peterson turned the game on its head with a critical interception in the fourth quarter.
This team is hitting its stride at the right time of the season. With just two games remaining in the regular season, the Vikings appear to be turning into the team of destiny with the postseason right around the corner.
