The Philadelphia Eagles came up just short of winning a championship in 2022, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.

Philadelphia is obviously hoping to return to the Super Bowl this upcoming season.

The Eagles will be one of the favorites as they return the bulk of their roster from last season, along with a few key additions.

Some of the Eagles' returning roster, however, is viewed as a red flag by CBS Sports.

The national sports media outlet recently pointed out a red flag for each potential contender in 2023 and they feel like the age of Philly's roster (namely their core group of players) could be a concern.

From CBS Sports: On paper, Philly might remain the most talented team in the NFL, fresh off an NFC title. And Jalen Hurts can make up for a lot. But they're dependent on plenty of older starters, from Jason Kelce (35) and Lane Johnson (33) to Brandon Graham (35) and Darius Slay (32). If several of them slip in performance or durability, both sides of the ball could feel it to a large degree.

That's a fair concern — you never know when Father Time will catch up with a veteran player. It can happen fast and sudden.

But while it's certainly a possibility that a veteran or two on Philly's roster could start to regress in 2023, it seems highly unlikely that the bulk of the Eagles' older players are going to dramatically decline this fall.

This is something that general manager Howie Roseman will have to address in the coming years, but it's not something that should impact the Eagles too much in 2023.
