When it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, most people know not to bet against them.
However, Draymond Green is not one of these people.
The Golden State Warriors power forward voiced his opinion on the Chiefs' 2024 season on this week's Why is Draymond Green Talking About Football? show with FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz.
"The Kansas City Chiefs will lose the first playoff game they play," Green stated.
And his co-host couldn't believe what he said.
"Oh, stop it," Shultz responded.
And he made sure to point out some very key facts.
It was reported earlier this week that defensive end Charles Omenihu, who is a "big sack guy," according to Shultz, along with running back Isaiah Pacheco were going to begin practicing. Plus, JuJu Smith-Schuster was set to return, and they still have Hollywood Brown on the roster.
But that didn't change Green's opinion.
"They'll lose," he said.
Of course, he couldn't offer this very controversial take without some explanation. So here it is:
"They are missing vital moments to improve," Green said. "They're just hanging on. They're winning because they know how to win. Just because you get those players back, you still have to be getting better. And just adding guys back into the lineup don't just make you better as a team. It makes you more talented, it makes you more capable, it makes you more dangerous. But it doesn't necessarily make you a better team.
"For the first nine, ten weeks of the season, they have not become a better team. Those are vital weeks, there are only 18. So, for nine or ten weeks, you've just been hanging on because 'we the Chiefs and we know how to win.' But I'm telling you, they aren't getting better. And there's other teams out there going through sh**, getting better. And they're not, so they'll pay for it."
This will just add fuel to the fire for Chiefs Kingdom. So now it's time to prove him wrong.
